So where to begin!!! We left off last time with Ellie at 10 Months. Well so much has happened! Ellie has not only turned 11 months but she is now 1!!! Can you believe it? We have a one year old! Where did the time go? I still remember the day she was born like yesterday.
Ellie has learned so many new things. My personal favorite is her Sumo walk. She is so funny. She takes these HUGE steps that look just like a sumo wrestler getting ready to fight. I’ve been trying to catch it on camera, but have yet to be successful. But if you ever see her and she is in the right mood all you have to do is say SSSUUUMMMOOO WWWRRREEESSTTTLLLEEERRR and she starts walking like it. Way to funny.
We celebrated Ellies first birthday with a Princess party. I am going to do a little mom bragging that I made her crown cake and it turned out awesome!! I’m still on cloud nine for that one! See the picture below... you would be proud to if you were someone like me who doesn’t bake. LOL.
Ellie had such a blast at her party that when I put her down for the night she was out cold. We were lighting off fireworks and she didn’t even flinch on bit from the noise. And let me tell you we don’t just do the little fireworks we (well my husband) does the big booms! It was awesome!
Ellie also went to the Waupaca County fair and touch all sorts of animals. She LOVED the piggies. She touched their noses and laughed so hard. I think she gets that from her Auntie Dar.
Speaking of piggy’s Elna now has enough hair to do pigtails! Yes that’s right folks my kid is super cute with the piggies. Even cuter when you take the piggy’s out and she has crazy Ellie Monster hair.
Some of you may also know that Elna had surgery the Friday before Labor Day. Nothing to serious. It was an outpatient procedure. Since Ellie was 4 days old we noticed that she was getting discharge from her eyes and they were very red. It would come and go about every two weeks or so. Eric and I figured out that since Elna was born we went to the Doctor on average 2-3 times a month for her eyes which they diagnosed as Clogged Tear ducts. They refused to do surgery until she was at least one. So as our luck would have it her eyes never got better and right before her first birthday they got worse and start to cause an infection called Cellulites. Which is an infection between you first layer of skin and flesh. Now as a mother I was ready to rip some Doctors apart for not wanting to fix this right away. But after the infection the specialist finally gave us the ok to do the surgery. So we went to Children’s Hospital of WI in Milwaukee and at 7:30 am they took her back and by 9:30 am we were back on the road to go home. Elna did great! You would have never guessed that she had surgery. Since the surgery Ellies eyes have been doing great so it seems that thus far the procedure work and we should not have any other issues.
Ok enough of the scary stuff. I’m so excited for this year’s Halloween. Ellie is going to be a duck and is super cute in her costume. I will be sure to post pictures of that!
Kit is still here to. She has finally warmed up to Elna a little bit more, but still is not cool with Elna chasing her through the house. But Kit likes her space so in time I’m sure she will become more used to Ellie and Ellie will become more used to Kit and not chase her so much.
Well that about covers our quick update for this go around. I thought the pictures could tell more of a story then what I could. I will make a better effort at blogging so we don’t have so many months in between.
Lots of love to all!
